Join Birds Canada’s Ontario Piping Plover Program and Feminist Bird Club for a beach clean-up event on Hanlan’s Point Beach. Help maintain a safe space for birds and the queer community. Learn about endangered species and enjoy bird-friendly coffee from Aves Coffee Co. Pack your reusable mug and join us!

What to Bring:
  • Sturdy walking shoes
  • Backpack with water bottle and snacks
  • Sunscreen, hat and other sun-safety items
  • Reusable coffee mug for some Aves Coffee Co. cold brew after cleanup!
What to Expect:
  • We will meet as a group at the Hanlan’s Point ferry dock for an opening circle at 10am.
  • Together we will walk down to Hanlan’s Point Beach and divy up garbage bags and gloves.
  • We will spread out across the beach collecting garbage, reconvening after ~1hr for photos, a prize raffle, coffee and thank yous!
  • Garbage bags and gloves will remain available throughout the morning/early afternoon for folks who want to help support the beach cleanup outside of the scheduled timeframe.

The air quality index during the event tomorrow is expected to be lower than the past few days, but still elevated. You are encouraged to check Environment Canada air quality status and make informed decisions towards your health.
