Each year, male timberdoodles return to Tommy Thompson Park and put on an amazing show. Who are the timberdoodles? And what makes them come here? Join us for this easy and fun family activity to find out more, and bear witness to this annual and very unusual phenomenon in Toronto’s urban wilderness park!

First, we will sit down and learn a little bit about these amazing birds from a local expert. Then, we will take a short walk as the sun goes down and look and listen for the American Woodcock’s courtship display. Finally, we’ll record our observations as a group to contribute to community science efforts, and learn more about how we can contribute to the preservation of this wonderful species.

This event is intended for Ages 6+:
