Watch it again: Wingtips at our fingertips: understanding the complex lives of migratory animals

May 27 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, repeating until June 4, 2020

In May, Toronto will receive more than 50 million birds. The city is a mega highway for birds, more colourful, healthy and enjoyable than the 401! But why? In this online webinar, Join Stu Mackenzie, Director of Migration Ecology at Birds Canada, to learn how the Motus Wildlife Tracking System is bringing the complex lives of migratory animals to our fingertips.

The protection of migratory birds and their habitat requires a complete understanding of how they use landscapes and habitats throughout their full annual cycle. The science of avian migration is the foundation of this objective: it not only tells us where we should invest our limited time, resources and energies, but it also communicates the story of migration to engage and link people and communities in conservation action.
