Watch it again: The cutest bird in the World came to Toronto, will they be back?

May 23 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Saturday, repeating until June 7, 2020

For years Piping Plovers have struggled to find beachfront real estate to raise their chicks. In 2018, they found the perfect spot within a constantly growing city… Toronto Island. It was the City’s first successful nest in over 80 years! Join us to learn about why Toronto’s lakefront property was so successful for these endangered birds, and learn how to spot the celebirdies next time they’re in town.

By the end of my webinar, attendees:
…will be experts on Toronto’s Piping Plovers
…will be able to identify a nesting pair of Piping Plovers
…will know how to read Piping Plover leg bands
…will have a new appreciation for Toronto’s nude beach

Join Ontario’s piping plover champion extraordinaire Andrea Gress in this amazing webinar. She is Birds Canada’s Ontario Piping Plover Coordinator and had held these tiny fluff balls in her hands! She has spent hours tracking the birds, setting up fences and nest protection to help these little ones thrive!
